When you need to change the internal IPv4 address of a Forefront UAG server do the following:

It may take a few minutes for the internal DNS servers to update, reflecting the change of the internal IP address.

To change the internal IPv4 address of a Forefront UAG server

  1. Close the Forefront UAG Management console.

  2. Click Start, and then click Control Panel.

  3. In Control Panel, click Network and Internet. Network and Internet opens.

  4. In Network and Internet, click Network and Sharing Center. Network and Sharing Center opens.

  5. In Network and Sharing Center, click Change adapter settings. Network Connections opens.

  6. In Network Connections, right-click the intranet-facing network connection that you want to configure, and then click Properties.

  7. In Local Area Connection Properties, in This connection uses the following items, select Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4), and then click Properties. The Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4) Properties dialog box opens.

  8. In Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4) Properties, on the General tab, click Use the following IP address. In IP address, type the new IP address that you want to use.

  9. Press tab to place the cursor in Subnet mask. A default value for subnet mask is entered automatically. Either accept the default subnet mask, or type the subnet mask that you want to use.

  10. Click OK, and then click Close.

  11. Open the Forefront UAG Management console. Before the Forefront UAG Management console opens, a message appears informing you that the previous IP address configured on the internal-facing adapter has been removed and a new IP address has been identified. For Forefront UAG to use the new IP address, click Yes. When a successfully updated message appears, click OK. The Forefront UAG Management console opens.

  12. From the Forefront UAG Management console, click the Activate configuration icon, and then on the Activate Configuration dialog box, click Activate.
